Award-winning folk artist Seth Lakeman brings a landmark tour to Birmingham Town Hall, celebrating 20 years of his breakthrough album “Freedom Fields”. Originally released in 2006, the record marked a turning point in Lakeman’s career – earning critical acclaim, a gold certification and helping to propel his distinctive blend of folk, storytelling and rhythmic intensity to a wider audience.
This anniversary show is built around that album, performed live in full alongside a selection of favourites from across his catalogue.
Known for combining traditional folk instrumentation, including fiddle and acoustic guitar, with driving, almost rock-like energy, Lakeman’s performances are both technically accomplished and emotionally engaging. Expect vivid narratives, foot-stomping rhythms and moments of quiet reflection woven together across two sets.
