SUMMARY:The Lost Children Exhibition at the Birmingham Midland Institute
DESCRIPTION:The Lost Children Exhibition tells the story of the Middlemore
  Homes\, that helped emigrate over 6\,000 children from the streets of Bir
 mingham (and around the country) to rural Canada from 1873 to 1948. The f
 uture lives of these children varied enormously - there are tales of happi
 ness as well as tales of great sadness. \n\nIn this interactive exhibition
  you’ll be able to ‘choose your child’ and follow their remarkable f
 amily journey from the slum streets of Birmingham to the backwoods of Cana
 da.  You will learn all about the Homes\, the children and this fascinati
 ng (yet not very well known) area of Birmingham's history.\n\nRuns daily f
 rom 10 am to 4pm from 14th-22nd September 2019\, is free of charge and sui
 table for families.  There are various Talks and Dramatic Lectures that a
 re also free of charge.  This exhibition is a year in the making and prou
 dly presented by the Balsall Heath Local History Society\n\nDon’t miss t
