Argle Bargle is a nine-piece pop ensemble whose music fuses catchy melodies and witty lyrics with funk guitar riffs, jazz harmonies and ska beats. The band formed in 2016 at the University of Birmingham and have since made a strong impression on the Birmingham music scene. Their 2018 festival sets at Cheltenham Jazz Festival and Valefest were met with praise for their liveliness, creativity, and the way the band clearly enjoy performing together. Their lyrics describe seemingly trivial life experiences – not being able to sleep, losing a passport, experiencing turbulence whilst on an aeroplane – yet their songs manage to convey a maturity of thought beyond their years.
