Americana/indie-country artist Michaela Anne, who Bob Harris with the BBC Radio 2 has mentioned within the context of Country music’s “next big thing,” performs her first headlining show in Birmingham on May 19 at the Kitchen Garden Cafe. This performance immediately follows a several week tour in Europe and the UK supporting acclaimed roots duo Mandolin Orange.

Michaela‘s music has been featured in The New York Times where it was described as “a healthy dose of the new oldfangled country,” and Rolling Stone Country said her music “evokes the country-rock sound of the Eagles and the emotional vocals of Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris.” She’s also been featured by NPR, Noisey, Stereogum, American Songwriter and Acoustic Guitar, among others.
From a recent live show supporting Courtney Marie Andrews, Glide Magazine said “Her voice is something to behold, clear and bright with a little twang. Anne’s songs vary between breaking your heart and making you cry, and sweet kiss-offs with plenty of attitude.” She has also acted as direct support for Ron PopeThe Travelin’ McCourys and Sam Outlaw (who is producing her upcoming album). Since her latest release, she’s rolled out multiple singles that received praise from notable outlets including NPR’s Songs We LoveRolling Stone and BBC Radio 2, alongside inclusion on major Spotify playlists including “The Pulse of Americana” and “Torch and Twang.”
As an artist to keep on your radar, Michaela’s live shows are not to be missed! For tickets and more info about Michaela Anne visit www.michaelaanne.com.
“Enter Michaela Anne, who has come out of nowhere as our saving grace, our angel, the person who will help usher us into a new age with her latest album Bright Lights and Fame.” Noisey (VICE)
